Please join us for our Member Salon: July 12th. We are looking to make our Wednesday Salons more interactive so we are encouraging members to bring a print or small selection of prints to share with the group. This is a chance to receive some feedback from fellow members on your current work. We are also interested in hosting a series of print swaps if there is enough interest among the members.
Bobbi Lane and Lee Varis
The PCPA Member Salon July 12 will feature two 30 min presentations by the husband and wife team of Bobbi Lane and Lee Varis. Bobbi and Lee share a love of photography and teaching. They we be participating as reviewers in our upcoming portfolio reviews coming up on July 15th and we look forward to seeing them come back as part of our ongoing workshop offerings.
Bobbi will be speaking on her approach to Travel Portraits: “Bobbi’s love of people, light and life have provided tremendous portrait opportunities in exotic locations. She looks for the “light” inside of people and emphasizes their joy. Her portraits portray the connection and spirit of humans everywhere, showing the similarities of us all, not the differences.” Lee will be speaking on his experience illustrating Movie Posters and More “Lee spent most of his career in photography as a photo-illustrator doing movie posters for major studios in Hollywood. He will showcase some of the most memorable projects, and provide a glimpse into the creative process that led him to teach digital photography and Photoshop to emerging photographers around the world.”
PCPA presents Member Salons
on the 2nd Wednesday evening every month
The salon format is very informal with a guest presentation and a topic for discussion. Member salons are excellent networking sessions. Members can present their current projects, pitch workshops, and bring current work to review and discuss over BYOB refreshments. PCPA Member Salons are open to the public.
