New Year, New Beginning
January 19 – February 11, 2017
Opening reception January 19 from 5:00 to 9:00pm
Please join us at the opening reception Thursday, January 19 from 5:00 to 9:00pm to celebrate the beginning of the Providence Center for Photographic Arts! Over 40 artists are featured representing a broad range of artistic expression, process and technique.
2017 is going to be a big year at Providence Center for Photographic Arts! We are excited to announce our first exhibit “New Year, New Beginning”. We mark our transition from Peter Miller Fine Art Photography Gallery to our new beginning as Providence Center for Photographic Arts (PCPA). In our first exhibit as a new non-profit organization we have reached out to make new connections. The eight founding members have each invited five photographers to join them in providing work for our first show. We hope the exhibit will expand our vision of contemporary photo-based media and further expose our community to a variety of exciting new art.
Founding members include: David DeMelim, Ronald W. Dunbar, Jr., Michael Lenahan, Rosemary Marchetta, Peter Miller, Shari Weschler Rubeck, Steve Szydlowski, and Tim Tolman. PCPA founding members’ work spans the full range of expression within the media and includes an array of non-traditional approaches to photography. We will each invite 5 guest photo-media artists and attempt to reach beyond our personal spheres to include “new friends” to introduce to our gallery and community. We are challenging ourselves to expand horizons on a personal level and on the content of this exhibit and all other future exhibits.
